Peter Coughlan

Peter Coughlan has spent the last 25 years working on multidisciplinary teams to design products, services, environments, and systems of all shapes and sizes. He has led large organizational transformation programs with healthcare systems, multinational corporations, and governmental & non-governmental organizations in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He has had decades of experience working with organizations of all types in strategy, innovation, and design. While at IDEO, Peter established and led their Transformation by Design practice, helping client organizations to imagine and implement futures of their own design. Peter has a master’s degree in education from Boston University and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from UCLA. He started his professional life as a carpenter’s apprentice.
