Stephanie grew up near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland surrounded by fresh seafood and a love of the ocean that would persist no matter how landlocked she became. Her passion for environmental conservation started early in life and followed her from MD to KY, where she received her B.A. from Transylvania University, to Washington state and now Georgia. She is an AmeriCorps alum, a published playwright, and a former theatrical lighting technician and sailor aboard cruise ships. After four years of sailing from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean and the Pacific to the Indian Oceans, she wants to contribute to a future that has a positive effect on marine ecosystems, coastal communities, and more. She has been a scuba diver since the age of 12, enjoys running marathons, hiking mountains, and absorbing as much vitamin D as possible. Stephanie is embarking on acquiring her Masters of Professional Science in Exploration Science from Miami RSMAS in autumn of 2021 to continue her journey as a steward for the environment.
