About the event
Join us on August 28 for the Fall premier of our Sea Change Makers Series - panels featuring founders Seaworthy Collective is supporting in its startup programs! Our third panel of 2024 will focus on Blue Biotech and Bioscience, a conversation encompassing solutions addressing restoring oxygen in our oceans and coastal waters, utilizing the vast abundance of microorganisms in our reefs to produce better household items and cosmetics, and harnessing the power of mushroom mycelium to produce surfboards and beyond.
⚗️Cordelia Biosciences (Gainesville, FL): Founders Jessica Tittl Nielsen and Monica Schul are tapping into the natural chemistry from our world’s oceans, to drive innovation in the chemical industry. Cordelia uses ocean microscopic organisms to create sustainable ingredients to replace the harmful chemicals in your everyday products.
🏄♀️ Mud Rat (Mansfield, CT): Founded by Amelia Martin, Mud Rat is making an eco-friendly alternative to the standard styrofoam surfboard core, out of mycelium.
🌊 Prosper Water (Miami Beach, FL): Founded by Max MacKenzie, Prosper Water uses a patent process for infusing oxygen into water in a bubble free manner to improve the energy consumption and water quality in water treatment processes, remediate or prevent algae blooms, and restore and maintain coastal marine environments.
This will also be our first event at Seaworthy's new home - the Miami Yacht Club! While parking at the Yacht Club is limited, there is additional parking nextdoor in a municipal lot, as well as at Parrot Jungle Island.
