Jazmin Locke-Rodriguez Ph.D is the founder of Phytoflora by Green Thumb Strategies. Jazmin is an Environmental Scientist trained in agroecological principles to make our agricultural system more accessible on a local level while increasing the resilience of the soil, water, and ecosystems it depends on. As a South Florida native, she has a special interest in the remediation and restoration of our most sensitive waterways. Her doctoral research at Florida International University investigated floating treatment wetlands that use cut-flower crops to uptake excess nutrients from polluted water bodies while providing a market product to financially sustain the venture. This is one way that she strives to bring together unlikely private-public partnerships to meet the common goal of a more sustainable future.
